A lot of tourist organizations and agencies invite jazz lovers to visit Serbia and the mythical city of Niš(ville) from 14 to 19 August this year. From the festival’s very beginning, its concept has been based on presenting the ‘traditional’ jazz forms together with their fusion with the ethnic tradition from the different parts of the world, especially from the Balkans. One of the most famous world’s jazz magazines, the American ‘Downbeat in its comprehensive review estimates Nisville as a festival which, in the best possible way, promotes both jazz music coming from the American continent, and the music tradition of the Balkans, as well as the fusion of these two.
