The air in Penang Island will be filled with enchanting melodies that originate from various parts of the world and the audience will enjoy enthralling performances from world’s renowned musicians, within Malaysia as well as internationals. There will be 15 bands performing music that has roots and traditions in a culture or a community. Ethnic instruments are of course, a must. Food stalls will also be set up to cater for the evening.

The venue that has been selected to host this grand event is the newly-launched Quarry Gardens which is situated just to the left of the entrance to the famous and older Botanical Garden, amid the lush trees and tropical foliage surrounding the whole area. By day, it is inviting and peaceful. By night, it is heady romance. This will be a total festive concept as there will be no chairs set up in rigid formality. The whole area will be like a friendly picnic ground where people can sit or recline on the grass, walk about or join the party crowd on their feet right in front of the stage. The combination of the powerful music and the magic of the venue will definitely be the web-spinners for the “World Music Festival 2007 – Penang”.
