| Festival Description | Not far from Paris, Auvers-sur-Oise, is a village coiled in the beautiful valley of Sausseron. The area is located on the edge of the regional Natural reserve of Vexin Français—where the authentic countryside allows festival-goers and tourists a complete removal from their usual surroundings. This is a land where artists such as Corot, Daubigny, Daumier, Pissarro and Cezanne engraved the history of French painting and contributed to its nationa—and later international—expansion at the end of the nineteenth century. The Auvers-sur-Oise Music Festival is one of the most prestigious in Europe. It translates into music the impressionist artist’s spirit into their painting—variety, vivacity, curiosity and freedom. |
