Festival Description

The annual New Jersey Folk Festival took place for the first time in 1975. The outdoor music festival takes place rain or shine on the campus of Rutgers University. The family-friendly festival is organized by a team that selects a theme for each edition based on one of the many ethnic communities in New Jersey and the surrounding area. Folk and roots musicians and dances offer a diverse flavor of folk traditions for festival goers. The programming includes performances, arts and crafts vendors, and a variety of foods are on offer for the day.
