| Festival Description | The Ars Baltica International Festival of Young Musicians invites young performers, their teachers and listeners to Kaunas. This event is aimed at everyone who fosters human values and feels concerned about the education and aesthetic training of the young generation of performers. In 1990, the festival took place for the first time and five years later joined the list of the projects of Ars Baltica, a program for multilateral cultural cooperation within the Baltic Sea region, coordinated by the ministries of culture of the Baltic States. Every year, the festival receives talented children up to the age of 16, who already have considerable experience at taking part in concerts and competitions. The usual format of the festival is six or seven concerts, with the opening and closing evenings featuring the participants playing with the Kaunas Symphony Orchestra. |
