UK Festival Awards:
  • Best Major Festival Award
    • From humble beginnings in 2004 the first Bestival saw 5000 people having the time of their lives at Robin Hill Country Park and for the following six years we have tried our very hardest to keep putting on the best party in the world, growing with our audience and having as much fun as is humanly possible. 2010 saw us make the jump to the major league with 50,000 people making their way to the glorious Isle of Wight for the festival season’s last hurrah partying on with performances from Dizzee Rascal, Hotchip, Roxy Music, Flaming Lips, Rolf Harris, Mumford & Sons and a jaw-dropping closing performance from The Prodigy. It’s taken a lot of hard work to get where we are, so we really are enormously proud of the Best Major Festival Award.
UK Festival Awards 2009:
  • Best Medium Sized Festival Bestival crew is enormously proud and ecstatically pleased to have won. The awards are voted for by the general public (the people that actually matter) so it means an awful lot to us to win them and it’s with huge and heartfelt thanks to you for voting for us.
FINAL WINNERS: THE GREENER FESTIVAL AWARD 2009:
  • The organisers of the Award, campaign and advice group AGreenerFestival.com said that they were particularly pleased with the number of outstanding festivals in 2009 with twelve festivals being awarded very high marks. The Award is based on a 56 part questionnaire which covers office management, greenhouse gas emissions, supporting green initiatives, travel and transport, waste and recycling, water management, environmental protection and noise reduction and almost all the festivals will receive a visit from an independent auditor to assess their green efforts. http://agreenerFestival.com
    • All winning Festivals will receive a special trophy designed by competition winner Sade Goddard from Keswick School in Cumbria whose winning design features a Red Kite motif and is made from recycled plastic bottles, crushed CDs and remoulded Wellington boots.
    • The winner of the overall Greener Festival Award 2009 was announced at the UK Festival Awards at the O2 Arena in London on November 19th 2009. The following winners are…
