Festival Description

2008 will be the 11th edition of Lyrique-en-Mer festival de Belle-ile. In addition to the two major operas given to the Citadel will be the Barber of Seville by Rossini, and Tosca by Puccini, and the four churches of Belle-Ile will accommodate a concert of sacred music within the program this year with Brahms’ Requiem Allemand. Lastly, the concert-cocktails and the master classes have become a tradition and attract the many faithful attendees. The “Magic Soirée” in Belle-Ile for our friends of the continent was made it possible in 2007 with three specially chartered boats. For 2008, the two boats—”Trinité-sur-mer”, and “Quiberon” will departure at 3:00pm (15h00) and return that evening after the spectacle has ended.

    Notes—Professional singers conduct for the public master classes for free. The classes allow the young singers to improve their basic teaching skills among experienced singers; and the choral singers of the festival take part in a course of vocal technique given by voice professionals and to present to the public the “slides” from the training of the song.
