| Festival Description | Sherborne Abbey Festival held its first concert in May 2000, and the festival has been held each year since as a four or five day event based around the liturgy and its music. Sherborne Abbey is a non-profit making organisation with charitable status; Sherborne Abbey Festival is run by the Sherborne Abbey Festival committee as a sub-committee of the PCC who publish its accounts annually. At the conception of the festival it was agreed with the PCC that any surplus funds raised would be used to fund future festivals and to promote music within the parish of Sherborne. Sherborne Abbey Festival regularly makes donations to amateur music groups within the parish in line with this agreement. |
