| Festival Description | After an absence of 27 years Roscommon Drama Festival has returned. The original festival was held in the Royal Cinema from 1960 to 1980. However, when the cinema was sold the festival was left without a home. Members of the original Roscommon Drama Festival along with new committee members have organized a new festival which will now be held in Roscommon Arts Centre. Visiting drama groups will compete for awards and nominations to the All Ireland Finals. Roscommon Drama Festival is also proud to annouce that Brid McBride, journalist, theatre critic, and broadcaster will be the adjudicator over the eight days of the festival. She has researched, produced, and presented documentary programs for both the BBC and RTE. Brid is honored to adjudicate the re-launched Roscommon Festival and is looking forward to seeing some exciting theatre and meeting friends old and new. |
