| Festival Description | Since 1973 the biennale Festival has been a direct descendent of such events as Theater Confrontations and the Review of Children’s Movies. The first editions presented the most interesting achievements of children’s art in the country and from abroad, in particular in the spheres of theatre and film. This interdisciplinary event brings together artists, performing arts theorists, teachers, culture animators and children—that is, all those interested in artistic education. In the later years the original model has been left behind, giving way to a more active, creative encounter of a child with the art and the artist. Currently, in connection with the educational system reforms and the social changes taking place—arts at school and the innovative forms of children’s participation in art—is being addressed. This has become the focus of the most recent editions. Every Biennale offers children a range of workshops, as well as their participation in film showings, theater performances and concerts. Meanwhile the adults attend the same events and can participate in the workshops, seminars and discussions specially tailored for them. |
