Puppet-No-Puppet is the term that is associated with the festival because it is the most concise in reflecting contemporary puppet theatre. Contemporary theatre, in seeking a new means of expression, has profoundly erased the traditional understanding of puppet theatre. The festival has become a place for observation and experiential exchange of the craft. The town of Białystok hosts the festival as a meeting ground for puppetry youth, who with their ever-present enthusiasm give new content to the term of Puppet-No-Puppet. As theatre explores new grounds in puppetry the new meanings will emerge.
