The festival is meant to present avant-garde, experimental and simply cool theatre. Every year since 2000, when Bartosz Szydłowski established Genius Loci, we have invited non-commercial, ambitious theatres and art centers which perform in Nowa Huta. The role of the festival is to erase traditional differences between so called “official” and “non-official” art—we want to show that artists who represent both trends ask the same, very important questions. Festival’s message is that only the topic matters, not the institutional or non-institutional background of the performer.
