| Festival Description | The Rajasthan International Folk Festival was initiated in 2007 as India’s first annual festival of regional roots music and the arts. At the core of the event are singers, dancers, instrumentalists, storytellers and artisans from more than Rajasthani folk communities—many of them unknown to the outside world. Performing artists of national and international standing will also join the celebrations, giving staged evening performances of roots music from around the world and collaborating with local musicians to create vibrant new sounds. The program includes interactive educational events, stage performances and late night jam sessions that will culminate with a special devotional concert at dawn. |
