| Festival Description | Following the success of the Second Theatre Olympics held in Shizuoka in 1999, the fomer Spring Arts Festival Shizuoka was launched as an annual event with the aim promoting and encouraging creative achievements in international performing arts. The Festival presents a variety of dramas, dance and world music productions. Since 2011, the festival has renewed the title as “World Theatre Festival Shizuoka under Mt.Fuji” for enhancing connection between Shizuoka and the world arts. |
