| Festival Description | Tokyo Summer Festival is an annual summer music festival organised by the Arion-Edo Foundation in co-operation with Asahi Shimbun Co Ltd, the leading newspaper company in Japan. The Festival lasts for about a month and features performances of various types. It is an epoch-making festival in the sense that it was the first festival in Japan planned and directed by professional musicians. Many outstanding artists from abroad perform under a theme, which varies from year to year. The 2007 edition’s theme is “Towards the islands - Sounds across the sea”. |
