| Festival Description | Beginning in 1993 the festival has opened with the blowing of conch shells—considered auspicious—by a famous troupe from Berhampur followed by an Odissi recital. The Puri Beach festival is held on the beautiful beach at Puri on the Bay of Bengal. This annual cultural extravaganza attracts tourists and locals alike to the cultural events. The program includes Odissi dance ballets and folk dances presented by artists from Bhubaneswar, Puri and Ganjam. |
