| Festival Description | Since 1967 the ISU Contemporary Music Festival and Louisville Orchestra Composition Competition has recognized outstanding composers of orchestral music. The Festival brings together world renowned contemporary music composers as well as young composers that are making a name for themselves. Students are given exposure to professional composers and performers, in addition to performances that present new music to the public. More than 175 established and emerging composers, including 17 Pulitzer Prize and the Grawemeyer Award winners have participated in the festival. |
