| Festival Description | This festival is dedicated to that most heartfelt of Cuban musical forms— the bolero. Renowned singers from all round the world perform, such as Beatriz Gil, Nieffe Pena and Roberto Sanchez, along with Cubans like Omara Portuondo, Soledad Delgado, Lino Borges and Rojitas, to name but a few. Though you will always hear old favorites such as “Lagrimas Negras” (Black Tears) and “Bajate de esa Nube” (Get off that Cloud), each annual festival is focused on a particular country and composer, along with occasional tributes to some of the world’s great bolero performers. Festival mainly takes place in the Mella Theater. |
