Through the years many exceptional Danish and international theatre groups have performed at the Festival of Wonder - Silkeborg International Puppet Theatre Festival.  The festival has presented puppet, object and visual theatre for adults and for children. The organizer’s intention with international theatre is to invite performances which have not previously been shown in Denmark and which add something new and inspiring to the art form of puppetry for the audience as well as the participating theatres. In addition to the performances there are exhibitions, films and workshops. The workshops are designed for professionals, and for other interested individuals of many ages. In 2005, 23 theatres put on 75 performances in theatre halls, museums, libraries, churches, cinemas, streets and municipal schools.
