| Festival Description | MassKara Festival of Bacolod City, in the Philippines is one of the major festivals in Asia. The festival dancers have also gone on to dance and perform in Singapore, Hong Kong, China, and Japan. MassKara was adopted by Bacolod known as the City of Smiles. The festival was created to during a period when the town faced difficult times and the festival served as a way to brighten the faces of its people and to give them hope. MassKara—a fusion of two words mass meaning “many” and kara meaning “face”. The theme song says it best—“Sige lang, Sige na! Bacolod, Batô Kita!” meaning—”Go on. Its OK Bacolod, we will fight” |
