Festival Description

Over forty acts perform their music on four different stages—the Main Stage, Workshop Stage, a kid-friendly Family Stage and a newly expanded Dance Stage, with over 8000 square feet of beautiful wooden dance floor under the big tent. Falcon Ridge has always been and remains today a three-day community who shares the tradition and reinvention of folk music and dance. The music at Falcon Ridge is accessible to one and all. American Sign Language is spoken and performances are ASL interpreted.

Although Falcon Ridge has become much more than the music that is played there, the music is certainly the focus of the community. The community was built around the music. People come together to share the music—even the performers say they come to Falcon Ridge for reasons that are far from the usual, reasons that are sometimes difficult to express in an interview or a conversation. A very direct relationship is created with the sharing of song and performance—where even that barrier between performer and audience is barely there. The festival has been running since 1988.

Practical Info:

Camping:
  • On-site festival camping at Dodds Farm is available with a 4-day camping ticket ONLY. Campground activities such as song swaps and round robins hosted by many camping patrons abound. Onsite campting areas are a 5-15 minute walk to stages. The organizers have created camping areas to appeal to a broad community—one has been designated as a “Quiet Camping” area.
  • Trailers and campers have access to the camping area, but there are not hook-ups available.
  • No reservations for camping are accepted. It is a first come, first served arrangement.
  • A shower tent, several water tankers and conveniently located port-o-lets, an ice vendor and several food concessions are all available on-site as is 24 hour First Aid and security. Most campers bring some food, especially drinks and snacks, and buy the rest at our international food court that boasts an incredible array of wonderful food.
  • Located nearby are several campgrounds and state parks with campsites that offer swimming and other amenities.
