| Festival Description | The Edmonton Fringe takes place in the streets of Old Strathcona and Edmonton! Each August, more than 500,000 visitors are expected to watch over 1,200 indoor and outdoor performances in 29 venues. More than 700 artists from around the world will join forces at the annual Fringe Festival. The performances challenge audiences and artists alike to open themselves to thought-provoking, zany, and often unorthodox theatre that is The Fringe. The Fringe Theatre Festival is an extravaganza of new plays, old plays, dance, music, mime, street entertainment and much, much, more! Performing artists from around the world will be everywhere — in the parks and on the streets in the historic Old Strathcona district. This annual festival is regarded as the largest and most exciting alternative theatre festival in North America. Advance tickets go on sale one week before the Festival starts. Tickets are available from the Fringe Festival Box Office until the day before a given performance. Tickets can be picked up on site from the Information and Advance Ticket Pick Up Booth in the lobby of the Trans Alta Arts Barns, beside the Fringe Festival Box Office. |
