| Festival Description | The São José do Rio Preto International Theater Festival (FIT) strives to emerse the attendees in the processes, methods, and strategies of contemporary theater. Through its program it seeks a kind of hybrid theater involving searches in inquisitive, suggestive, and provocative drama. It defends the deconstruction of theater, the non-theater, the connection with dance, visual arts, music, literature, and technology—going against traditional procedural paths. Using these strategies it stands on creativity, intuition, and synthesis ability in seeking risk through uncomfortable positions—preferring a nail bed to a mattress. FIT in this way reconstructs theater as we know it. |
