Festival Description

Leucate Contemporary Music Festival is a three day open air event that takes place each day for seven hours on two stages on the beach of Franqui. The major contemporary music event takes pride in it’s program within an environmentally-minded event. Since its creation in 1996, the festival “the Mediterranean ones” always defended cultural diversity and was always concerned with its environmental impact (in particular in 2003 with the operation “Let us save the Seas” in connection with the FNE, and 2006 by their engagement at the sides of the WWF…). In 2007, the 11th edition of the festival taking place on a protected site, the Beach of Franqui, in Leucate, we will be even more vigilant on the means to implement to preserve this exceptional environment. A “pool environment” made up of a team of voluntary and professionals will intervene upstream, during and after the festival to set up a series of concrete actions meeting our aims: to protect the environment from the festival to wake up within the public a true reflexion around the environment
