| Festival Description | Founded and produced by comedian Dean Obeidallah, and comedienne and actress Maysoon Zayid the York Arab-American Comedy Festival (NYAACF) first took place in 2003. The Festival showcases the talents of Arab-American actors, comics, playwrights and filmmakers. The event features the outstanding talents and provides visibility to Arab-American artists with the aim of attracting positive attention to the Arab-American community. The (NYAACF) assists in the production of the first stand up comedy festival in the history of the Middle East that took place in December 2008 — the Amman Stand-Up Comedy Festival.
