| Festival Description | Founded in 1993, by Tbilisi Center for Music & Culture, Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra and Tbilisi Municipality Autumn Tbilisi was the inspiration of a famous Georgian conductor, Djansug Kakhidze. It is an annual event, taking place in September-October. The participants of the festival include famous musicians from all over the world—such as Nelson Freire, Yuri Bashmet, Gidon Kremer, Vadim Repin, Michel Lethiec, Jan Garbarek, Viktor Tretiakov, Elisabeth Leonskaia, Eliso Virsaladze, Alexander Korsantia, Dimitry Alexeev Gary Hoffman, Natalia Gutman and many others. The festival attaches also great importance to promotion of Georgian performing arts. The festival progam is very diverse and combines concerts of classical music, jazz and folk. The classical musical part of of the festival program always includes a great number of world music masterpieces. In addition, the festival attaches importance to the presentation of works by Georgian composers and Georgian traditional music. The existence of “Autumn Tbilisi” would be absolutely impossible without magnificent concert halls of Djansug Kakhidze Center for Music & Culture and Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra, which is the main participant of the festival |

Festival Story:
International music festival “Autumn Tbilisi” is a high level artistic event, which became the first beam of light in the completely silent cultural life of Tbilisi after the tragic developments in Georgia. It serves to regenerate the rich concert life traditions, that had always existed in the country. Over the 10 years of its existence, the festival became one of the most popular musical events among the citizens of Tbilisi and its guests.
