Free Open Air Festival—Colorful musical parades, jazz concerts, rhythm-n-blues, Mississippi and gospel, marching bands, and spicy culinary discoveries. The festival is held during the Pentecost weekend. The event begins with a magnificent parade in the streets with the Phoenix Brass Band, which has quite a reputation in New Orleans. Next, six authentic groups will perform on two main stages in Place Guillaume and the Place d’Armes with a hot musical mix found only in the Mississippi Delta. For 10 hours, the town will once again be immersed in the atmosphere of the Deep South. With—among others—legends of jazz and blues Deborah Herbert, Tyron Starks, Lucien Tigiffon, Kevin Duvernay, Anthony “Lorenzo” Gordon, Ghee “Gontse” Diakhate, and The Jamboree-Singers.
