| Festival Description | The Festival of Hope was organised to create awareness on the dangers of the deadly HIV and AIDS. The event has presented well-known international musicians including UB40, Zimbabwean superstar Oliver Mtukudzi, and South African reggae singer, Lucky Dubeand. Mozambique’s most popular bands have included—Ghorwane, Kapa Dech, and the country’s most successful rock group, Rockfellers. The festival typically attracts a regional audience. Although a great number of the more than 40,000 people who attended the festival were from neighboring countries such as South Africa and Swaziland. |
