| Festival Description | The Festival takes place in an open-air theatre set against a spectacular backdrop of mountain ranges. It is open to participants from all Central Asian countries and includes contests for folklore groups, musicians, signers, dancers, traditional bards, handicrafts, traditional sports and games, and a fashion contest using national fabrics. Begun as a local civil society initiative with the support of some eminent musicians, folklore specialists and businessmen this festival obtained the support of the Mayor of Boysun, the Ministry of Culture and the President’s Office of Uzbekistan and UNESCO. |
