| Festival Description | Since 1978 Hippalot has created a unique children’s festival where various genres of art are explored—art, theatre and drama. Each year the organizers offer a fresh and innovative event. Hämeenlinna's many institutions bring a rich cultural arena to the city: including the City Theatre, the Art Museum, Arx Arts Centre and Verkatehdas Arts & Congress Centre. During the Hippalot festival these cultural institutions and groups work together in order to provide the very best of children’s culture for the festival guests. The theme of the festival of 2008 is 'Circus'. The theme will be explored through drama, workshops, visual art, dance, music, circus and encounters with a host of art forms. International guests for example from and will attend the events. Most of the performances are in Finnish but English-language guests haven’t been forgotten! You can for example enjoy these interesting pieces at the Hippalot. |
