| Festival Description | The Sweden Rock Festival started out under the name Summer Festival in Olofström, Blekinge as early as 1992, moved to Karlshamn in 1993 and then assumed the name Karlshamn Rock Festival. When the festival outgrew its residence in Folkets Park (People’s Park), Karlshamn it was moved further to the small village of Norje in the county of S lvesborg, and renamed it Sweden Rock Festival. Since 2001 the festival has broken its own attendance record every year, and our amazing and devoted audience has thus proven once again that hard rock, in all its shapes and forms, is bigger than ever. |

Festival Story:
2010 Sweden Rock to honour Ronnie James Dio
Ronnie James Dio made four appearances at Sweden Rock Festival: twice with his own band Dio, and twice with Heaven & Hell — most recently just last summer. Ronnie always had a keen eye towards Sweden and Sweden Rock, and over the years we developed a good relationship to both him and his wife/manager Wendy. It was with heavy hearts we woke up Monday (May 17, 2010) morning realising that the news of his passing the day before had not been a bad dream, and that one of the greatest of all time had indeed left us.
To honour his memory, we have decided to rename the Zeppelin Stage: this year it will be called Dio Stage. We are also planning a tribute ceremony on one of the main stages. More info on this will follow shortly.
