| Festival Description | HälsingeHambo is one of the oldest dance competitions in Sweden. From the start in 1965 the number of participants increased to a record 1500 pairs of dancers during the seventies. Today there are about 300 pairs of dancers, but the HälsingeHambo is still a big folk festival which attracts crowds of dancers, musicians, artists and thousands of dance and music lovers. Every year one dancing pair and one dancing team win the competition, and thereafter second and third places are chosen. Dancers from all over Scandinavia and from the USA participate and many return year after year. The reason is maybe not so much to win but to enjoy the great atmosphere and the many other events that surround the festival. |
