| Festival Description | Interplay is excited to announce its newest festival taking place right in the organisation’s hometown of Brisbane! Brisbane Interplay 2007: Louder than Words, is made possible by the generous support of Brisbane City Council and Arts Queensland and is a four-day event of intensive script development for young Brisbane playwrights aged 13-26 with professional playwrights, dramaturgs and directors. This is a chance for young writers to get a wide scope of skills, advice and networks without having to leave their city! There are two age groups for Brisbane Interplay—one for playwrights aged 13-17, and one for playwrights aged 18-26. A program of development has been specially designed for each group. The 13-17 year old group will be led by David Megarrity, with a workshop run by a Brisbane playwright. The 18-26 year old group will be led by Ian Brown and Maxine Mellor, with specialist craft workshops being run by Stephen Carleton, Anna Yen and Michael Futcher. A previous workshop for Brisbane Interplay was led by Kathryn Kelly. |
