| Festival Description | Its live in Accra—Its going to be magical—All the continents gathering at the centre of the world to produce rhythms of the planet. JayNii International Folklore Festival takes off this August 8th-15th, 2009 in Accra and Kumasi, Ghana. During these eight days, JayNii hosts performers from the five continents of the world on indoor and outdoor stages, runs intimate hands-on workshops, and gives tours of different historical and interesting places. Meet the warm and ever smiling people of Ghana amidst a colorful and electrifying atmosphere as you enjoy good music, meet new friends, and cool down at the serene JayNii Beach. Understanding culture helps one to show reverence to the past, experience the now and imagine the future. Join us this year as we move together amidst and beyond the music and dance! |

2009 Theme — Promoting Unity and Development through Arts and Culture:
- Concert: JayNii
An international festival of folklore which takes off in August 8th-15th of 2009 in Accra and Kumasi, Ghana. This eight day programme hosts performers from the five continents of the world on indoor and outdoor stages, runs intimate hands-on workshops, and gives tours of different historic and interesting places. Enjoy rhythms of the world while learning one another’s culture.
Responsibilities of the Festival:
- The festival shall provide—
Accommodation and feed (during the festival)
Tour to historic and interesting sites (tour guide accompanied)
Inland transportation (To and fro the Kotoka Airport)
Responsibilities of Participating groups:
- Groups are to take care of their airfares
Prepare 10-30 min shows
Bring their wares and cds for sale
Bring country’s flag and national anthem
Take care of major medical situations
For this year alone, group membership is not to exceed ten (10). Extra members will be taken care of by the party. The Group may come two days before the festival and stay two days after. Those who wish to stay a little longer should arrange before festival. - For more information contact

Objectives of the Festival:
- Promoting peace and unity through acceptance of one another’s culture
- Enabling people to appreciate their cultural values, gain understanding, acquire knowledge and develop skills for living in a globally independent and culturally diverse world
