The festival offers a chance to see some of the best theatre productions for young audiences from Wales and abroad. The main festival program features performances and an opportunity for participants to meet other theatre workers through discussions and seminars and informally at social functions during the festival. The festival’s title sums up th aims of the organizers — to open doors to new discussions, contacts, exchange, and co-operation. AGOR DRYSAU – OPENING DOORS is a designated ASSITEJ International Festival.
The Aberystwyth Arts centre will be the main venue for festival performances and other events; performances will also be held in additional theatres and schools within the town. Foreign companies performing at the festival will also perform in other venues in Wales giving our young audiences the chance to see some of the best theatre in the world. Festival events will also include receptions, a sight-seeing trip and a “festival bar” (for discussing, planning, networking).
We look forward to welcoming visitors from Wales and beyond to the festival. AGOR DRYSAU - OPENING DOORS is a chance for us to welcome foreign producers, promoters and festival directors to Wales and for Welsh artists to perform alongside foreign colleagues. There is something for everyone and every age. So put the date in your calendar and contact us to book your place to see some of the best world theatre.
The Festival will be held in and around Aberystwyth - in the stunning scenery of West Wales. The coastal town of Aberystwyth is the home of some of the major Welsh cultural institutions and one of Wales’ best and busiest arts centres. The area is accessible by rail, road, and links to major airports such as Birmingham International, Cardiff and Heathrow.
