| Festival Description | The Extreme Caribbean Cultural Experience is what the producers of the Barbados Pan Festival is calling the 2006 production—A lot of Pan, a touch of Poetry, Tuk, Creole, Zouk, Ringbang, and plenty calypso and certainly a mixture of formidable talent. This year the Barbados Pan Festival speaks of Caribbean stability; “I am proud to be Caribbean; being Caribbean evolves from a backdrop of things Caribbean—The sea, fish, sun, sand, pan, creole, tuk, ringbang, spouge and calypso”. Mike Murray, the producer says “Since our first production in 1997, my main commitment is, preserving the cultural expressions of each island, developing a message and branding products that capture the essence of a unified Caribbean. Showing support for each island, bridging cultural, economic, social and religious barriers, while having regional and international appeal. Selling the region to the global economy via the concept of Our cultural Exponents is my vision”. |
