| Festival Description | The longest running Tango event in New Zealand, this festival incorporates 35 workshops with teachers from Buenos Aires, four nights of beautiful dancing, featuring fabulous live music from the a live Tango Trio direct from Buenos Aires—and world class performances from overseas guests and the best of our New Zealand teachers. The festival offers a beginners program for people who have never tried tango. By the end of the course you will have learned the basic steps, fallen in love with tango and met people from all over the country who feel the same. Come alone, in pairs or as a group and learn to tango. Participating Tango Schools throughout New Zealand are offer beginners courses prior to the festival that will get you ready to participate fully in all of the events at the festival, including feeling comfortable to join in at the milongas (dances). Participants are eligible for a discounted pass price and a programme of workshops with a range of teachers at the festival has been designed to cater specifically for your level. |
