| Festival Description | An annual festival devoted mainly to the music and dance of the Marwar region. This is a festival that allows the visitor to understand and enjoy the folk traditions of this part of the state. Scores of folk dancers bring myths and legends to life in a showcase for traditional music and dance of the old Marwar region. Other attractions at the festival include a camel tattoo show and polo. The impressive Umaid Bhawan Palace, Mandore and Mehrangarh Fort provide the ideal venue for the cultural extravaganza, and many other competitions also take place. With its colorful folk dances, enchanting music, graceful costumes and impressive displays of the royal sports of Rajasthan, the Marwar Festival is an opportunity to witness the rich culture and proud history of the land of the Rajputs. |
