| Festival Description | Thrissur hosts the Thalam Festival that is organized by the Thalam Cultural Trust. The festival has featured the likes of Nangiarkoothu by Usha Nangiar, Bharatanatyam by the Dhananjayans, Odissi by Jhelum Paranjpe, Contemporary dance by Samudra Performing Arts, violin concert by Kunnakkudi Vaidyanathan, and Kuchipudi by Ananda Shankar Jayant. Thrissur used to be the cultural hub of Kerala until Thiruvananthapuram acheived that honor. The Trust seeks to reclaim Thrissur as a cultural hub through festivals such as the Thalam Festival. |
