| Festival Description | The first national Veena festival, aimed at bringing about a resurgence of interest in the ancient musical instrument, and hopes to bring about a deeper understanding of classical music and the role of veena in it. According to the Chairman of Veena Foundation, L M Singhvi "Veena reminds us of the ancient heritage of India. Though veena has been pushed to the margin in North Indian music, the versatile legacy has survived and flourished in South India and continues to occupy an important place in Carnatic music". |
