Cantamaggio is a folk festival that celebrates the return of spring and the awakening of Mother Nature. Its origins can be traced to the folk traditions tied to the rural lifestyle. There is a parade with allegorical floats made by people from the different city quarters or the small towns nearby. The period just before the parade features plays, exhibits and other shows arranged by event organizers together with cultural associations and theater troupes.
