| Festival Description | On May 1st, Rome celebrates the arrival of spring with a gigantic music festival in Piazza San Giovanni that attracts musicians from all over the world. As the festival was instituted in 1989, it has become an important part of the Roman cultural calendar, as well as a major national and international event. A thread of social consciousness has run through the various editions in recent years: Amnesty International and other socially conscious agencies have all been associated with it in the past. |
