| Festival Description | The National Arts Festival takes place at The Cultural Center, Saralana Grounds, in Port Vila. The program features performances by more than 700 artists representing the diverse cultures from throughout the islands of Vanuatu as well as from New Caledonia. The festival offers the opportunity to experience Vanuatu culture — traditional legends, dances, magic, traditional music, traditional island cuisine, sand drawing, rope drawing, mat weaving, basket weaving, tam tam display and performance, canoe display and race, within an environment of cultural exchange. Beyond the celebration of tradition this festival will also feature contemporary exhibitions of Visual Arts and seminars presented by our cultural experts, just to make the experience complete. Visitors will also enjoy a show of diversity that makes the Vanuatu Islands unique, and experience the hospitality and friendship which unites the people across the islands. |
