| Festival Description | Beneath Ponderosa pines beside a glacier-fed river in the Cascade foothills outside Leavenworth in Central Washington State, the Icicle Creek Early Music Festival features four diverse period instrument performances of renaissance and baroque chamber music with widely recognized performers and scholars who will also be available in daily master classes and workshops on harpsichord, fortepiano, early flutes, oboe, lute, guitar, viols, cello and voice. Lecture-demonstrations and forums examine a variety of topics including the Cristofori piano, European musical pitch in 1700, and Bruce Haynes' new project, Authenticity and Happiness: Paradox and Serendipity in Ancient Music. |
