| Festival Description | The Virginia Arts Festival was created in 1997 as an annual springtime event. Designed to promote the 50-mile region from Williamsburg to Virginia Beach, the Festival’s mission is to draw national and international attention to the region as a rising cultural tourism destination. By presenting internationally acclaimed artists from around the world for the enjoyment of visitors, residents and students, the Festival proudly shares the enriching experience, the unifying power and the joy that the arts bring to the quality of life. The Festival showcases the region’s natural beauty and recreational attractions as well as its wealth of historic, cultural and educational institutions, which is of direct benefit to the economic development of the region as well as to building year-round interest in tourism. |
