| Festival Description | The Guthrie Jazz Banjo Festival is organized by the American Banjo Museum. The festival did not take place in May 2008, as the American Banjo Museum is in a relocation process from Guthrie to Oklahoma City. There will be a gala opening celebration in late summer 2009 and then the festival will begin anew in Oklahoma City in 2010. Some of the finest banjo artists and groups in the world today take part in the Festival performances and include special events — Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies, the Festival Parade, the World’s Largest Banjo Band, Gala Benefit Concerts, Workshops, Jamming, and a Banjo Worship Service. Banjo enthusiasts may also wish to attend the Hall of Fame banquet. |
