| Festival Description | The little town of Hoogstraten near the Belgian-Dutch border is home to the largest Caribbean music festival in Europe, which has filled the air with the sounds of calypso, soca and the many other festive sounds of the Antilles since 1983. Bands from Jamaica, Cuba, Colombia, Haiti, Belize and many other countries around the Caribbean turn out to offer an unparalleled mix of the region's highly diverse music. The festival regularly presents bands on two stages, playing meringue, salsa, soca, zouk, son, punta, kaskawl and more. Naturally the urge to dance is overpowering, and the festival ground turns into a giant party. |
