Festival Description

2008 marked the 30th year of Bele Chere, the southeast’s largest free outdoor festival located in scenic Asheville, North Carolina. Approximately 365,000 festival goers will converge on the streets of downtown to hear fantastic music, enjoy great food and watch competitions in team and individual challenges. Watch as our twelve contestants camp on the Urban Challenge Island located in the center of The Bele Chere Festival. At the end of the festival, one challenger will walk away with the ultimate title and prize.
