| Festival Description | First held in 1964 the Bruges Festival Musica Antiqua is over 40 years old. The annual competition comprises two weeks of concerts, held in historical venues around the city as well as at a new concert hall. The concert platform offers an anthology of works by composers such as Boccherini, Mozart, Haydn, Handel and Telemann. Bach is the main focus for many evening concerts, featuring suites, motets, cantates, chaconnes, diminutions, and double and triple concertos. |
