Festival Description

p>The Annual Iowa Women’s Music Festival, has been celebrating women in the arts since 1993. The events take place in Iowa City at the Johnson County Fairgrounds. Join us, right in your backyard! Bring blankets and chairs for grass seating. Food, performer merchandise, festival swag, and other arts/crafts will be available for purchase, so you may want to bring some spending money. There will also be a kids’ area. Pets on leashes are welcome, and dogs have a meet-up for a day of fun! For more info, visit http://www.prairievoices.net.

  • 20th Anniversary Iowa Women’s Music Festival Comedy & Music Fundraiser
    Friday, September 27, 6:00pm, doors, 7:00pm showtime
    Johnson County Fairgrounds, 4261 Oak Crest Hill Road SE, Iowa City
    • Featuring: festival favorite Zoe Lewis, hilarious comedian Julie Goldman, and not-to-miss newcomer Summer Osborne! We’ll have a silent auction and raffle also. Cover is $10-25 sliding scale at the door. No one will be turned away for inability to pay. The show will be ASL interpreted.
  • 20th Anniversary Iowa Women’s Music Festival Day at the Fairgrounds
    Saturday, September 28, Noon to 6:00pm.
    Johnson County Fairgrounds, 4261 Oak Crest Hill Road SE, Iowa City
    FREE to attend, no tickets required
    • Featuring: Andrea Gibson, God Des and She, Annie Mack Band, Claudia Schmidt, Summer Osborne, Kim-Char Meredith, Jillian Noah, and an all-star Iowa band with Lojo Russo, Kimberli Maloy, Natalie Brown, Gayla Drake, and Laurie Haag. We’ll have food and merchandise vendors plus some activities for the kids. Everyone is welcome and this is a Rain or shine! event. Socialized dogs on leashes too! (Please clean up after your pets!).   • 20th Anniversary IWMF at the Englert Theatre
    Saturday, September 28, 8:00pm.
    221 E. Washington St., Iowa City
    An evening with Suzanne Vega. Milk & Eggs opens the show!
